IBM to augment India staff by 3000
IBM, already the largest MNC IT employer in India will escalate its staff by another 3000 in Kolkata by year-end. The company employs about 39,000 people in the country, up 70 percent from 23,000 a year ago.

Amitabh Ray, vice president for application services said the new hires would work at its global delivery service center. IBM, the world’s largest computer services company, had announced in June this year that it would invest $6 billion in India over three years as a part of its move to increase outsourcing services and client management.

Unisys centers at Bangalore, Hyderabad
U.S. based software maker Unisys Corporation has opened two global sourcing operations centers in Bangalore and Hyderabad. These two centers are part of its plans to have 6000 offshore employees by 2008.

While its second facility in Bangalore will be operational by mid-October, the Hyderabad center will start functioning from the second quarter of 2007. These two centers will complement its first independent center in Bangalore that is now operating
at full capacity.
