Microland, a specialist IT Infrastructure Services Company, signed a strategic multi-year contract valued at $55 million with UK headquartered Serco, a leading international service company. It has been providing remote IT infrastructure management services to Serco since 2005. Under the new contract, Microland will continue to provide specialist support for a range of devices through an expanded team located in Birmingham, UK, and Bangalore, India.

Microland pioneered networking in India in 1989, and then transitioned itself into a provider of internet based services. Following developments in the Indian telecom infrastructure, the company recognized the global outsourcing opportunities for specialist providers of Remote IT Infrastructure Management Services and moved into this venue. “Over the last few years, we have been building our leadership and global presence in the rapidly growing IMS space. This strategic contract ushers in a new era for us wherein we would now be able to provide an integrated onshore-offshore solution to our global customers. The Microland-Serco relationship is testimony to world class services and business benefits that we continue to provide to Serco and other global customers,” says Pradeep Kar, Chairman and Managing Director, Microland. Today it serves customers across North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

“This new agreement builds on our existing 6 year partnership with Microland. It provides us with a cost effective and flexible solution for specialist IT infrastructure services to support our service delivery. Long term collaborations with specialist providers, help to ensure we are able to offer our customers the efficiencies they need, whilst allowing us to focus on the right blend of service innovation and creativity,” says Mark O'Connor, Technology Services Director at Serco.
