MTS launched its new Green Data Centre in Noida

MTS, the mobile telephony services brand of Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd (SSTL) launched an eco-friendly data center in Noida, National Capital Region (NCR). The Green Data Centre is built by IBM and complies with the Tier 3 standards. This is the third datacenter for MTS in the country after its Chennai and Jaipur data centers. The data centre features an intelligent BMS (building management system) for round the clock monitoring and surveillance in order to have effective energy utilization and security.

This new datacenter is spread over an area of 22,000 square feet and is equipped with state of the art facilities. With this data center in place the company is expecting increased reliability and resilience for its services and applications for customers. “With the commissioning of this data centre in Noida, we now have three state of the art data centers across the country. This latest set up would provide impetus to our data focused strategy and is in line with our plans to foray into cloud computing services segment. What makes this latest data center more special is its extremely low carbon foot-print,” says Rajeev Batra, Chief Information Officer, MTS India.

Applications in the centre will be in shared with Chennai and Noida for enhanced customer experience and the center can be scaled up twice of its existing capacity as per the increase in demand for services.
