This month we are featuring New Jersey-based allergist Dr Sudhir Parikh who has not only received acclaim in the treatment of allergy, asthma, and immunology but also made a significant difference in U.S.-India relations. He is indeed an asset to the Indian American community.

Like Dr Parikh, who migrated to the U.S. in late 1970s, over the years many doctors and engineers have come to this “dream land.” Their contribution to the American society has been significant. These days, the very same people are returning to the homeland to take up leadership positions in various companies.

The Indian IT industry is growing at over 30 percent, which speaks of the career growth opportunity one could have.

Last month alone heads of Dell, Symantec, Texas Instruments, McAfee visited India and praised the Indian talent and the opportunity their company has in tapping this talent. Such high profile visits aren’t unusual. As India becomes the most preferred location for IT professionals, we present you a mind share of some of the returnees.

Open source technologies have been around for years, but only the recent success of the Linux operating system has made them a mainstream IT phenomenon.
