Traditional modes of communication seem to be fading away as the world is getting interwoven in a digital web. Among all age groups, youngsters and school going students are much faster in adapting latest technologies compared to the elders. Consequently, they spend much of their time on chatting applications and social networking sites whilst becoming addicted to the same. Parents, teachers and schools are having a hard time keeping a track of what the students do and how they perform, as the communication among all these entities still depend on the age old diary or paper based systems. These traditional systems do not make for a transparent communication among the school, parents and students, and hence smart students somehow manage to present a fake leave application, hide their report cards or negative remarks given in diaries and what not. In the process, parents and the teachers remain unaware of the reality and could not really contribute well to the child’s future. Considering the need to establish a better connect between the participants in a child’s future and the child himself, Francis Masih and his four sons started Franciscan Solutions Pvt. Ltd. in 2007 with a motto to replace the old diary-based communication systems in schools with a sophisticated and synchronized technology enabled solution called 'Franciscan e-Care' that stands for contribution to the ‘electronic care’ of parents and school.

Based in Greater Noida, Franciscan Solutions is India’s first educational ERP provider with synchronization system. The company strives to excel in all IT and communication needs of the schools and bring students, parents, teachers and school together on a single platform with its flagship product ‘Franciscan e-Care’. From school attendance to getting leave application approved, to online library, digital notice board, sharing student’s progress, images and videos with parents over SMS, e-mails and through mobile app; the solution virtualizes and streamlines the way everyone is connected. Franciscan Solutions does not assume end of responsibility once the solution is deployed, but it also dedicates a trained team to the school to run the systems, update information and keep the teachers, students and parents informed about all happenings. This makes the ISO 9001:2008 certified company feels proud to be a helping hand to all the educators in imparting quality education to the students and consequently forming the future of the nation.

Overcoming Resistance

Inspired by the life of Saint Francis of Assisi, the company was put to his patronage seeking his abundant blessings and was named ‘Franciscan’ gaining ideals and following patron values of its patron saint. Initially, it was a hard nut to crack for the founders to pursue schools to implement a solution that would replace the age old diary system. Principals and school management were reluctant and unsure if the newly born company with it's newly developed concept could really keep its promises. But with time and ‘Perfect Performance’, Franciscan e-Care was blissfully accepted by many well known schools like Delhi Public School, Mathura Road, New Delhi (The founder school of Delhi Public School Society founded in 1949), Convent of Jesus and Mary, New Delhi, St. Mary’s Convent Inter College, Allahabad, St. Edward’s School, Shimla, St. Francis College, Lucknow, St. Peters’ College, Agra and many more. With so many precedents set, the organization today makes most of its business through word of mouth publicity. Its clients praise it for exceeding their expectations and delivering value-added products and services beyond expectations.
