Cloud is the playground now. Considering the increased adoption of the cloud-based business model among Indian IT companies, Fortinet, a provider of network security and unified threat management (UTM) solutions, has released a carrier-grade version of its FortiGate multi-threat security platform. The new solution integrates many new functionalities to help carriers, service providers, managed security service providers, and enterprises better protect their own networks as well as the networks of their customers through cloud-based security delivered as a service. Carrier-class features incorporated in the solution secure the voice-over-IP infrastructures and mobile operator content, and enable automated provisioning and management of security policies on a per-user basis. “India is a bandwidth-hungry market. The quest for bandwidth is accompanied by a high vulnerability towards security threats. The increase in the mobile phone usage worsens the situation further. So the new solution is timely,” says Vishak Raman, Country Sales Manager (India), Fortinet.
