Faculty Management Studies: Ambitious Pedagogy for the Ambitious Students

Faculty Management Studies (FMS) was first established in the campus of Delhi School of Economics under the leadership of the then dean Prof. A. Das Gupta. FMS has come a long from being one of the first institutions offering a full time MBA Programme to one of the most premier Indian B-School with a global impact. Founded in 1954, FMS is an AICTE approved institute proffering its 200 strong student body expertise in various domains like MBA Executive, Health Care Management, Doctoral Programmes and Management Development Programs for the corporate. Every student is a part of the college club ‘Management Science Association’ where they are honed to come up with relevant industrial solutions and every permanent faculty member is a PhD holder and alongside involved in numerous consultancy and management development programmes.

Entrepreneurship at FMS is an encouraged segment where the aspiring entrepreneurs are provided with ‘placement holiday’ to pursue their startup and simultaneously allow them to participate in subsequent placement up to two years. The Entrepreneurship cell has collaborated with National Entrepreneur Network (NEN) for future business activities. The pedagogy involves live projects and summer training and a tie up with Harvard Business School for exchange between the Journal of Management Research and Harvard Business Review for research. FMS has also signed an MOU with Teach for India (non-profit organisation) for preferred placements. Foreign exchange and collaborations with international institutes like ESADE, Barcelona, Spain, INSEAD, University of California and many more, enables a global education for the students. The well-known Indian Financial Management expert, Sat Prashar is an alumnus of FMS.
