In today's world, enterprises cannot confine their computing capability to their physical office buildings, shop floors, and sales offices. They have to build capabilities to connect with people and control assets from any location. To enable these, connectivity technologies like wireless, mobile, RFID, and GPS have to be integrated seamlessly with their existing systems.

Enterprises already have invested huge amount of time and effort in purchasing ERP and CRM applications like SAP and Oracle Financials. These investments have to be protected and at the same time realtime intelligence has to be built at the edge to make use of these technological developments. Ennovasys, with its suite of products and solutions, steps in to provide these capabilities to extend the enterprise to the edge. Using RFID, GPS, and mobile technologies, which are known as location based technologies, process automation can be achieved to realize business benefits like improved productivity, reduced distribution costs, increased customer service, and reduced capital expenditure.

“Our approach is to build on the enterprises’ existing software infrastructure and create value by adding new technologies like RFID, GPS, and mobile. We use our hardware and software solutions to make these applications location-enabled, thus improving the business process,” says Uday Shankar, CEO and Founder of Ennovasys. He feels that the time is perfectly ripe for the companies in this field. “As these are new technologies and the customer awareness is low, we offer all our solutions completely packaged with hardware and software so that the customer can have a good experience,” he adds.

Ennovasys offers a suite of software products for enterprises as well as the SME market. For large enterprise customers it offers PistaSuite, which is an RFID and GPS based location engine that offers asset visibility. The company also offers MINT, which is a mobile integration engine that mobile-enables ERP applications. While for SME segment it offers .net based software solutions for tracking in functional areas like logistics, work-in-progress, IT asset tracking, inventory tracking, yard management, and time and attendance keeping. Ennovasys also manufactures GPS and RFID equipments for tracking vehicles, which are offered with software products.

Shankar is a technology entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience in building and running companies. He is an alumnus of Indian institute of Science, with past stints in companies including Supply Insight, Metaserver, Kanbay (CapGemini), and Infosys. Shankar realized that there are not many companies that offer ‘Enterprise Mobility Solutions’ in a cost-effective manner. Ennovasys was started to help enterprises improve operational efficiency and cut costs by extending the backend applications to the edge devices.
