Deloitte announced its Technology Fast 50 India 2011 winners. The program was initiated in 2005 by Deloitte in line with the regional programs in other parts of the globe – Deloitte Technology Fast 500, which is well established in North America, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), and Asia, recognizes the world’s fastest growing and dynamic technology companies.

Companies from Software, Telecommunications & Networking, Computers & Peripherals, Internet, Semiconductor, Components, Electronics, Biotechnology, Pharmaceuticals & Medical Equipment, Green Technology, and Media & Entertainment, participated in the program. Ubona Technologies, a telecommunications and networking player came in the first position with a significant year over year growth rate of 1353 percent. Software company, Aujas Networks, with a growth rate of 1010 percent came in the second spot, and with 792 percent annual growth Prizm Payment Services came third.

The winners list was dominated by software players, who took more than 72 percent share. The Top 50 companies have achieved an average revenue growth rate of 296 percent over the last three years, suggesting the room left for growth in the country. Another significant observation of this year is that 14 percent of the winners are from tier II cities. This points at the growing importance of tier II cities.
