Amway India, one of the premier FMCGs, has approached Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta to develop and offer special courses enhancing entrepreneurship and leadership skills to its high potential direct sellers. In the first of its kind, Amway India has finalised a list of 100 sellers who with their skills have displayed exceptional business and selling acumen. The pharmacy giant seeks to impart quality and nurturing entrepreneurship amongst the selected candidates where it will offer free training of more than 18,000 sessions on yearly basis, excluding the digital learning platform.

Expressing his thoughts on this innovative venture, Anshu Budhraja, General Manager, Amway India, informs, “The tie-up with IIM Calcutta is focused on building skills and competencies of our highest potential direct sellers to help them compete in an ever evolving entrepreneurship landscape. Micro Entrepreneurship, generating self employment through skilling, is the key priority for Government of India. We too are aligning our training strategy by focusing on enhancing skills and competencies of our direct sellers”.

Elaborating on this association, Prof Ramendra Singh, programme coordinator and faculty at IIM Calcutta, remarks, “Amway India approached IIM Calcutta to arrange a series of workshops for their high potential direct sellers on subjects related to Entrepreneurship, sales, marketing and motivational leadership. The key takeaways from this short residential course at IIM Calcutta would include building their direct selling businesses through innovative thinking, training team members in latest sales skills, and becoming a motivational leader and team builder through effective communications”.
