Scraped knees are a part of growing up, so is making sure there is nothing more than that. Whatever the case maybe, they are all preventable and with some simple guidelines. In the early childhood, education and development are important, but nothing matters more than the safety, security and health of children. With so many incidents, where children go missing or hurt themselves very badly, it is only fair to say that many daycare centers in the country currently lack protection and preparedness to stay sharp and keep children safe. Daycares need to take certain simple steps to keep children safe, little steps, which can bring a positive change and help in the overall growth of children.

Children go missing because it is hard to keep an eye on them, all at once. Here is where a consideration can be made for a tightened security. CCTV cameras can be placed to keep a tab on children and the entrance of visitors should also be limited. Buzzers or bells that sound, when doors open is also another step in tightening the security of the area in which the day care may be. These alarms automatically signal when someone enters the building or when children leave the building. Measures can also be taken to ensure only authorized people are allowed to drop, visit and take children home. Mandatory sign-in for all parents and visitors, with a staff member assigned at all times to answering the door or monitoring the building's entrance also helps the cause. Keeping the profiles of children low is also a very strong step towards keeping them safe. Information about a child must not be shared with anyone except for the child's parents.

Daycares also have to be particularly specific in choosing the location before setting up their infrastructure. The need for a place with a good environment should be of top priority. After which measures can be taken to be alert and aware of the surroundings by reporting anything out of the ordinary and keeping updated information of all the people in and around the neighborhood. Hygiene is what comes next for all daycare schools. Children have very weak immune system, keeping that in mind small steps to prevent children from getting any disease should be taken. It can be as simple as hand washing or staying prepared for various types of medical emergencies that can occur due to unhygienic place or food. Staffs also should be trained to handle medical emergencies. Small steps in the right direction can save more lives than expected.
