Great Lakes Institute of Management, one of the premier management institutes of the country had an excellent placement season for its PGPM batch of 2015. Already about 95 percent of the students from the largest ever class of 381 have found career opportunities with a large number of companies participating across Consulting, E-commerce, Analytics, IT/ITES, Telecom, Financial Services, Manufacturing and many more. The highlight of this placement season was the highest offer of 51 Lakhs CTC made by Amazon India. This year the average annual salary increased to 12.02 lakhs p.a. from last year's 11.43 lakhs p.a.
Great Lakes PGPM class of 2015 is an eclectic mix of students from diverse educational backgrounds and industry experience ranging between 2 to 5 years and this makes it attractive for recruiters looking for business ready talent who can start delivering from day one. Accenture, Cognizant, Deloitte, HSBC Technologies, Infosys, iNautix, ITC Infotech, Mogae Media, Scope International, TCS and Wipro were the major recruiters in terms of the offers made. The maximum profiles have been offered in the Technology Consulting, Sales & Marketing and Business Consulting areas.

NIELIT Targets Training 55 Lakh Students in ICT for Jobs

Highlighting the importance of skill development in making a success of the National Digital Literacy Mission and Digital India Campaign of the Government of India, the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) laid the foundation stone of its headquarters at Dwarka, New Delhi. NIELIT is an Autonomous Scientific Society under the administrative control of Department of Electronics & Information Technology (DeitY), Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India, was set up to carry out Human Resource Development and related activities in the area of Information, Electronics & Communications Technology (IECT).

A national toll-free helpline number 1800-11-65-11 for NIELIT students, Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) portal and Digital Marketing Information Booklet were also unveiled on the occasion. NIELIT has trained over 20 lakh students in the last two decades across 31 NIELIT centers besides a network of about 900 accredited training partners and nearly 6000 facilitation centers. However, in-line with the Government's thrust on the Digital India Campaign, NIELIT has also set an ambitious target of training 55 lakh students in ICT for jobs, ESDM and Digital Marketing courses in the coming 4-5 years.
