MBA is always a valuable investment for the future. In this fast evolving world, not many people have the time for higher studies and many undergraduate management students look to get into industries right after they finish college. However, companies look for people with innovative ideas, which come only with the right learning experience. It is a tough task to gain a higher education background while being employed at the same time. To eradicate this problem, today colleges have adopted Executive MBA, a program that allows students to learn while getting paid by industries. It has been specially designed for professionals who are already working and cannot go back to school. It is a single year program for professionals to help them master their skills set. One of such institutions providing this platform to many professionals is, Alliance University. Located in Bangalore, Alliance Universityis the first Private University in South India and is jointly recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Alliance University is awarded the Best Private University of the Year 2014 by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM) of India, New Delhi.

"The Executive MBA aims to prepare graduates for senior management challenges and higher responsibilities in a demanding career while purporting to build a strong and sustainable leadership repertoire of business leaders across all levels within an organization," says Dr. MadhukarAngur, Chancellor, Alliance University. The participants in the EMBA program at Alliance University come from a broad spectrum of industries, job responsibilities, cultures and nationalities. The students in this executive leadership program are accomplished business leaders from both innovative start-ups as well as multinational corporations. "Fortune 500 executives, non-profit leaders, entrepreneurs and family business stewards work side by side in study groups, forging personal and professional bonds that last a lifetime," adds Dr. MadhukarAngur.

When current business scenarios are dissected in a classroom discussion, the collective quality of learning brings out the best pedagogical approach. With this in mind, classes for EMBA at Alliance University are conducted on weekends exclusively following a part-time program pattern. "The EMBA that we are providing is not a distance program. The program's priority is to ensure continued connect between textual concepts and their practical applications through contact sessions with accomplished and stimulating faculty mentors," says Dr. MadhukarAngur. The university has assigned a live industry-based project to each student, which provides both academic and industry perspective to all its activities. Identifying issues important to the future, classes of EMBA are supported through live case studies and discussions on current affairs. The institute has placed a stronger emphasis on teaching students to apply information. This helps in building students up to solve the day-to-day entrepreneurial problems.

The Dynamic Curriculum

To meet the industrial needs, the University has been altering its curriculum periodically with feed backs from the industry and society. This process ensures that the university's curricula continues to produce the next generation of professionals with appropriate knowledge and skills to face the challenges of modern businesses. The university also has in place an advisory board for these Executive programs. The Board's role is to guide the strategic direction of the program. It also ensures that the program stays relevant and innovative - both very important in the competitive executive education market. Further, it also aims to reduce the proverbial distance between the classroom and the industry. Like the business world, the Executive MBA changes and innovates to respond to marketplace needs and trends and alters its curriculum once every year. Tied to over 240+ companies, the university today offers four specializations namely Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, and Operations.
