The AISECT University was established in Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh in 2010 as India’s first skills-based university. In a short span of time, the University has not only set an example for quality skills-based formal education but has also emerged as a research hub of the country. Ever since its launch, AISECT University has endeavored to prepare students for the changing professional world so that immediately after graduation they are ready to contribute to the industry’s growing demand for skilled workforce.

Owing to its path-breaking initiatives, AISECT University has earned recognition in both the academic circles as well as the aspiring student populace for being a premier leading University both at the state and the national level. The University draws its roots from one of the most trusted education groups in the country, the All India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology (AISECT). Recognized under Section 2(f) of the UGC act as well as by AICTE, NCTE and BCI, it offers a wide spectrum of programs at Ph.D., Undergraduate and Post Graduate levels through nine major Faculties including Engineering & Technology, Science, Management, Commerce, Arts, Paramedical, Education, Computer Science & IT and Law.

A team of qualified and experienced faculty members has been brought together to nurture the young and aspiring minds. Every possible effort is made to hone the logical, reasoning and communication skills of the students so as to help them to grow into confident professionals. The University has advanced laboratories with latest equipment, lecture halls equipped with video conferencing and digital classrooms for easy access online from anywhere, ensuring that the amenities and facilities are at par with global standards. AISECT University’s completely digitized library service equipped with the DELNET software is a prime example of the technology-based learning environment offered to students.

In order to reduce overall skill deficit and bring skill-based learning in the higher education framework, AISECT University has revived practical hands-on learning as part of the curriculum through collaboration with local industries as well as by installing industry grade machines in the labs and workshops for a field environment in the labs. AISECT University has also started Skill Academies in each department in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) which provide over 30 skill courses. In addition to normal curriculum, the University has made one skill compulsory every year for each student during any degree course. So an Undergraduate student comes out with minimum 3 to 4 skills in addition to hands-on experience on industrial machines in labs.

Research is a major focus area for AISECT University and it has collaborated with several research centres and universities in India and abroad. Renewable Energy, Material Science and Environmental Science are its current areas of research. The University has several projects including one in collaboration with Taiwan and IIT New Delhi for developing efficient material for solar cell to increase efficiency by 100 percent. With Ukraine there is a project on earthquake prediction. Students are encouraged at the UG level through research projects and project competition held every year. The University has made research activity compulsory from first year onwards for UG students. Students are encouraged to write and publish research papers and the University itself is publishing a research journal of international standard. ‘Anusandhan’ is a biannual journal on Science Technology and Management subjects and ‘Shodhaytan’ is the University’s biannual journal on Education, Commerce, Humanities and Social Science.
