Bangalore: Following HP's lead with its TouchSmart line of touch-enabled, all-in-one desktop PCs comes the Sony Vaio L, the company's first venture in the segment and it has slipped covers off the Sony Vaio J series all-in-one PC that boasts of being a touch enabled desktop. The device flaunts a 21.5" wide screen display delivering resolutions of 1920 x 1080p. It comes with a wireless keyboard and a mouse that can be stored right under its display.Enable the users watch HD movies in 1080p resolutions through the Blu-ray Disc optical drive extended with certain models. The device comes pre-installed with Windows 7 Home Premium or Professional 64-bit OS. The built-in webcam integrates face tracking technology and the microphone lets users' video chat with friends and colleagues. Users can access the web through in-built wireless 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi technology and a wireless router that can be bought separately. Select J series notebooks are powered by the latest 2010 Intel Core processor along with sufficient RAM and an optional dedicated Nvidia GeForce series graphics card for enhanced gaming and entertainment. The PC has been attributed with Webcam Message Board software that allows users to leave handwritten messages on the screen and create videos through a third party internet service provider. The adjustable stand helps users to alter the viewing angle and also enables the device to take up less space by its decreased slant. The Vaio J series desktop is fitted with three hardware buttons, namely, Vaio, Assist and Display Off that provide users access to various functions. The Vaio button enables users to enter the Media Gallery software with which 21 channels of music can be created based on tone, rhythm, beat. The Assist button takes users to the Vaio Care software program installed in the device that informs them about the maintenance procedure of the PC. With the Display Off button, users can switch the screen off and secure the privacy of their stored content. It also lets users perform nighttime applications without putting the PC in hibernation mode. It is expected to be available through Sony Style stores and select retailers from next month. The desktop is assumed to be priced at $900 (approx. 42,250).
