Ultrabooks will Outpace Tablets!

Bangalore: In the next five year Ultrabook market will grow three times as fast as Tablet market, according to a report from Juniper Research. The report says that, by 2016, more than 178 million Ultrabooks will be shipped annually, but tablets will keep a lead overall with an estimated 253 million units.

This newly evolved form of laptops are patented by Intel’s specification and came into existence to compete with Apple’s Macbook Air. Ultrabooks are thin, light weight, has long batter y life and very short wake up time, these features make them more preferred that standard notebooks. There are many tech-giants like Lenovo, Dell, Asus, Acer, HP and many others who launched their own form of Ultrabooks in the recently happened CES 2012 and it is suspected that Ultrabooks will eat up 40 percent of laptop market by the end of this year.

The driving forces which will make Ultrabooks successful will be; efforts of manufacturers to make these high performing and stylish laptops affordable, more hard-drive and cloud based storage solutions, the use of new Windows 8 OS for more power efficiency, connectivity  and touch capability.

The author of the Juniper report, Daniel Ashdown, reveals obstacles which vendors are facing. "While Intel's control of the brand ensures that Ultrabooks stand out from traditional notebooks, vendors face a balancing act in terms of product strategy," he wrote. "Meeting Intel's specification secures brand status and funding, but the step-change from notebooks means many of today's Ultrabooks are too expensive for many consumers."

2012 is supposed to be the ‘Year of Ultrabooks’ so it’s sure that we will come across lots of them this year in the market. Both customers and vendors are expecting a match of price and performance in these new devices which manufacturers should take into consideration. For the time being let’s give a thumps-up to Ultrabooks.
