Bangalore: Computer manufacturer Toshiba has recalled 41,000 Satellite laptops after customers complained of overheating and melting cases. The recalled laptops include the Satellite T135, Satellite T135D and Satellite ProT130 range of models. The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada said in a joint statement that the Toshiba laptops could overheat and possibly melt the area around the notebooks' plug-in to the AC adapter. Around 129 reports have been reported in the commission regarding the same. Customers have experienced minor injuries as well. The laptop models were sold between August 2009 and August 2010. Their prices ranged from $600 to $800 and were sold both in stores and online. Toshiba has released BIOS revisions for the faulty laptops that can disable external power after failure. Toshiba said batteries cannot be recharged until the problem is fixed. Toshiba has asked customers to call the company's product support line for repairs.
