8. Nvidia's Tegra K1 processor

Nvidia being a well-known graphics hardware maker is wishing to earn a name for itself in Smartphone segment by introducing its Tegra line-up. Tegra K1 processor is the latest to arrive on the scene with 32-bit and 64-bit versions. It is targeting better gaming performance as its goal. The company boasts that their processors can outperform PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 processors as the chip is based on Kepler architecture. The 32 bit variant is expected to hit markets in the first half of the year and the 64 bit one will follow suit in the latter half.

9. LG Flexible battery

When makers announce flagship flexible phones, it should not only include flexible displays but also have all its other parts in the flexible form as well. To fulfill this need, LG Chem unit has successfully made a curved battery for its flexible Smartphones. Not only can curved battery be the energy source behind tablets, they can power other gadgets including wearable ones. The flexible batteries are bendable, thanks to "stack and folding" technology patented by LG Chem. These make the Smartphones hard to break. The phones which implement this technology will have features to use the curved display innovatively.
