Symbian 3 run Nokia N8 reaches India by mid-September


Bangalore: Nokia has announced in its twitter account that the Nokia N8 phone is all set to reach the Indian markets by mid-September. The phone is the first device in the world to run on Symbian 3 operating system. The Nokia N8 has a 3.5 inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a scratch resistant Gorilla glass display. It comes with multi touch input method and proximity sensor for auto turn off. The device boasts of a 12MP camera with auto focus and Xenon flash. Among the special features packed in the camera include geo tagging and face and smile detection. The device ships with 256MB RAM, 512MB ROM and 16GB internal memory. The memory, however, can be expanded using a microSD card up to 32GB. Connectivity options of the phone include Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, EDGE, and USB ports. The phone comes 3G ready. The Nokia N8 is loaded with ARM 11 680 MHz processor and a 3D Graphics HW accelerator. The phone also packs in MP3 music player and FM radio. It has a standard Li-Ion 1200 mAh battery. On a 2G network the phone is capable of giving up to 390 hours of standby time and up to 12.5 hours of talk time. While on a 3G network, the phone gives 400 hours of standby time and 5.5 hours of talk time. With the new version of the Symbian, Nokia N8 is capable of HD video recording. It also pulls feeds and updates from social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter. What is more exciting is that you can personalize the phone by creating your own widgets. It also has voice-guided navigation for over 70 countries in the world. The phone is available in an exciting range of colors like Dark Grey, Silver White, Green, Blue and Orange. The phone sure packs in a lot of features . Although the price of the phone is not announced yet, going by the features it is expected to be in the 20K plus range.
