5. Taylor Aerocar

Taylor's design of a roadable aircraft-Aerocar was built in 1949. Though the company built six different models but couldn’t enter the mass production.


 

 

6. Curtiss-Wright VZ-7

The U.S. Army also entered the business of flying car in mid 1958. The Curtiss-Wright VZ-7 was a VTOL (A Vertical Take-Off and Landing Aircraft) designed by the Curtiss-Wright company for the US Army. It was also known as flying jeep. The aircraft performed well during tests, but was not able to meet the Army's standards, therefore it was retired and returned to the manufacturer in 1960.
