Samsung Revives Classic Design with Galaxy Watch 8
Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 series is in the works as the Galaxy Watch 7 lineup's successor, according to rumors. Before its expected launch sometime later this year, it has been reportedly spotted on a certification website that indicates Samsung reintroducing its well-liked Galaxy Watch 'Classic' model. The South Korean technology giant missed this model last year when it released the Galaxy Watch 7 in two sizes, and a new Galaxy Watch model. Nevertheless, the alleged Galaxy Watch 8 Classic may still emerge into the light.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic Launch
First seen by XpertPick, the so-called Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, model SM-L505U, has been certified by the Bluetooth SIG. Although nothing else is listed, it is consistent with earlier rumors that Samsung may revive the 'Classic' model as part of its flagship smartwatch family later this year.
While there are no feature differences between the Classic and the standard Galaxy Watch models, the former has been a hit among consumers. This is attributed mainly to the presence of a rotating physical dial, which makes it look like a traditional watch while still having the smartwatch capabilities.
Notably, the Galaxy Watch 7 series was announced in July a year ago and it omitted the Classic or Pro versions. Samsung, however, released the basic Galaxy Watch 7 model in various sizes, along with a new Galaxy Watch Ultra, and the latter launched as a rival to the Apple Watch Ultra.
Most importantly, however, this is not the first time we've seen the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic mentioned. Before this, the alleged smartwatch with the same model number was found on the GSMA database. Later on, it was said to have earned a battery certification from the SafetyKorea website. The Galaxy Watch 8 Classic (SM-L505U) appeared with the battery model number EB-BL505ABY.
More information is bound to emerge as the release date approaches. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic and the normal model are rumored to be released later this year, together with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7.
