Samsung Extends Free Green Line Screen Replacement for Galaxy Models Through September

Samsung is reportedly to have extended the duration of the free one-time screen replacement offer for Samsung smartphones hit with the notorious green line problem. According to a tipster, Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and Galaxy S21 users will be entitled to receive a one-time screen replacement for free at certified service centres in India until September. But as always, the South Korean technology giant reportedly said there are restrictions on the eligibility of the devices, considering the date of their purchase, their condition, and other specifics.

Samsung's Free Green Line Screen Replacement Policy Initially uncovered by tipster Tarun Vats, Samsung Support allegedly confirmed that its screen replacement program will be valid until September 2025 for the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Galaxy S21 line. It was previously only applicable on out-of-warranty Galaxy devices until December 31, 2024.

The company reports that the deal will entail a replacement of the OCTA (On-Cell Touch AMOLED) board. In addition, the technician will also perform free kit and battery replacements. Nevertheless, there are some conditions and terms.

According to Samsung support, the products must not show any physical damage or water damage. Products up to three years from the time of purchase will be replaced for free. Further, only the original buyer will be able to receive the replacement when they present the original bill.

While the replacement will be done free-of-cost, labor charges will be incurred which will be borne by the customer. They can get an appointment with their local Samsung authorized service centre to avail themselves of this deal and have their screen, troubled by the green line problem, replaced.

Interestingly, this is not the first instance of Samsung providing free screen replacement for the affected devices of the green line issue. In April 2024, the company had launched a special replacement program in India for the Samsung Galaxy S20 series, Galaxy Note 20 series, Galaxy S21 series, and Galaxy S22. In November, Samsung widened this invitation to include models that are out of warranty through December 31, 2024. It is reported to have gotten an extension until later this year, according to the tipster.
