Realme is gearing up for its first big smartphone launch of 2026, with reports suggesting the Realme 16 Pro series will arrive in India on January 6. While the company has not officially confirmed the event, early details hint at two models in the lineup, the Realme 16 Pro and the Realme 16 Pro Plus, marking a shift from the Realme 15 series, which skipped a Pro Plus variant.
According to early leaks, the Realme 16 Pro will start with an 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, with options going up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The phone may launch in three new colors Grey, Gold, and Purple moving away from the finish choices offered with the previous generation.
The Realme 16 Pro is expected to feature a 6.78-inch OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a high 144Hz refresh rate. It may measure 7.75 mm thick and weigh around 192 grams, signaling a slim and lightweight profile.

One of the biggest upgrades appears to be the camera system. The Realme 16 Pro may pack a 200MP main camera paired with an 8MP secondary lens, a major leap from the dual 50MP setup of the Realme 15 Pro. The front could sport a 50MP selfie camera. Meanwhile, the Realme 16 Pro Plus may further enhance photography with the addition of a telephoto lens.
Realme is expected to reveal more details closer to the launch, but early signs indicate a strong focus on performance, display quality, and imaging capabilities.
