Oppo has launched a mid-range 5G smartphone in India called the Oppo A79 5G. The MediaTek 6020 SoC powers the device with dual 2.2GHz Arm Cortex-A76 performance cores and six 2GHz Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The A79 5G is available in two color options Glowing Green and Mystery Black. The smartphone is quite slim, measuring just 7.99mm in thickness and weighing around 193 grams. On the back, there is a rectangular island with dual polished rings around the camera lens.
The smartphone is priced at Rs 19,999 and will be available for purchase in October 2023 on popular e-commerce platforms like Flipkart, Amazon, and other retail outlets. It boasts smooth performance, a fast-charging battery, and an IP54 rating, indicating its resistance to dust and water. The manufacturer claims that the device has undergone more than 320 quality tests and 130 extreme reliability tests. The device features a 6.72-inch FHD+ display with a punch-hole camera and a 90Hz refresh rate. With Widevine L1 certification, users can stream HD content from Amazon Prime and Netflix. Additionally, the smartphone comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack for wired audio.
The Oppo A79 5G boasts a dual-camera setup at the back, consisting of a 50MP AI camera and a 2MP portrait camera. For selfies, it comes with an 8MP camera. It is equipped with the MediaTek 6020 SoC, which houses dual 2.2GHz Arm Cortex-A76 performance cores and six 2GHz Arm Cortex-A55 efficiency cores. The smartphone features 128GB internal storage and supports an additional 1TB microSD card. The A79 5G is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with 33W SUPERVOOCTM fast charging technology, which charges the device up to 51 percent in no time.
