Nothing has introduced the Ear (Open) earbuds in India, marking its entry into the open ear true wireless segment. Originally unveiled in September 2024, these earbuds are now available for purchase through Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale. Designed for users who want to enjoy music and calls while staying aware of their surroundings, the earbuds are ideal for outdoor activities like running, cycling, and commuting.
Priced at Rs 9,999 during the sale, the Nothing Ear (Open) features a unique transparent design with an over-the-ear hook to keep the buds secure during movement. Each bud weighs just 8.1 grams, and the carrying case is light at 63.8 grams. They come with an IP54 rating, offering protection against sweat and splashes.
The earbuds use 14.2mm dynamic drivers with titanium coated diaphragms to deliver clear sound with rich mids and highs. Their open ear design doesn’t block ambient noise, allowing users to stay alert to their environment. They connect via Bluetooth 5.3 and support AAC and SBC codecs. The buds also support Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair, and dual device multipoint connection.
One of the standout features is ChatGPT integration, enabling users to interact with the voice assistant naturally. For calls, the earbuds use AI powered Clear Voice technology and three microphones on each side to reduce background noise and enhance clarity. They offer up to 8 hours of playback on a single charge, with a total of 30 hours using the case. A quick 10 minute charge provides an impressive 10 hours of listening time.
The Nothing Ear (Open) competes with other open-ear models like Sony’s LinkBuds Open and Shokz OpenRun, offering a fresh option for users looking for a balance between awareness and audio quality. You can grab the earbuds on Flipkart now.
