Microsoft Unveils New Copilot Plus PCs, Expanding Surface Line in India

The Surface Pro boasts a 12-inch PixelSense LCD touchscreen with a resolution of 2196 x 1464 and refresh rate of up to 90Hz. Microsoft is guaranteeing up to 16 hours of local video playback from a single charge. Interestingly, the Surface Connect port has been axed charging is now a USB-C affair.

Microsoft also introduced a new 12-inch Surface Pro Keyboard, which boasts a matte-textured palm rest, full-size backlit keys, and a customisable touchpad with Adaptive Touch Mode.

New Microsoft Surface Laptop: Specifications

The new 13-inch Surface Laptop follows the slender design language, measuring 15.6mm thick and 1.22kg. There are three available colours: Ocean, Violet, and Platinum.

Driven by the same Snapdragon X Plus processor as the Surface Pro, the new laptop takes advantage of all the Copilot+ PC AI capabilities and on-device AI acceleration through the NPU. The screen is a 13-inch PixelSense panel with 1920 x 1280 resolution and a 60Hz refresh rate. Microsoft promises up to 23 hours of local video playback on a full charge.

New Windows 11 and Copilot + PC capabilities

Windows 11 is also going to have multiple updates such as a revamped Start menu with a native phone companion, AI-driven actions in File Explorer, improved features in Notepad, improved Microsoft Store, and more.

The Copilot+ PC platform is also acquiring new features. These are an AI agent built into Settings, more Click to Do actions, enhanced Windows Search, and new AI features in Photos, Paint, and the Snipping Tool. Microsoft is also releasing updates to the Narrator accessibility feature.

These features will initially be available to Windows Insider users before rolling out slowly to the general public.
