Bangalore: Logitech has launched a rechargeable, wireless keyboard called the K800. The highlight of the K800 is that it is a illuminated keyboard. The keyboard is scheduled to hit markets in August 2011 at an estimated price of $89.99.
The K800's features include ambient light and motion sensors. It is programmed to save battery life when it is not used. The backlit feature adjusts the intensity automatically, depending on the amount of light in the room. It detects the amount of light using the ambient light sensors.
The function of the motion sensors is to detect the hands as they approach the keyboard so that it turns on the backlight. The sensors turn it off as the hands move away. The keyboard has got enhanced battery life, running for 10 days without the need of recharging.
Denis Pavillard, Vice President (Product Marketing), Logitech said, "The Wireless Illuminated K800 keyboard includes features that make it a standout - smart backlighting, Logitech Unifying technology, our PerfectStroke key system and Logitech Incurve keys - and presents it all in a very stylish and sleek package that's sure to please."
