Indian Government To Develop Smartphones Under $100

Adding to it, the government has to be prepared to face a stiff competition from the existing competitors in domestic mobile market, like Karbonn, Micromax, and others. These companies are providing features that are available in higher range phones in small price tags, making it difficult to compete.

As most of the components are imported from China and assembled in India, it is time the government creates Smartphone for the Indian masses by entering into an agreement with one or all the Indian manufacturers. This would also benefit the mobile manufacturers as it would reduce tariffs for importing parts. The government should also look into setting up a facility to manufacture the components in India which would further reduce the price.
