HTC Salsa now available in India at 22,000

Bangalore: HTC had announced the HTC Salsa in Mobile World Congress (MWC) on February 2011. Now the company has officially launched the product in India. The phone comes with a dedicated Facebook button, as using Salsa, one can sign in to Facebook by just pressing the button. The product will be powered by Google's Android 2.3 operating system. Salsa comes with 3.4 inch touchscreen display with 480x320 pixel resolution and QWERTY keypad. It has 512 MB RAM and 512 MB ROM. It also features Android skin HTC Sense. HTC Salsa will be available in India for 22,000 at all authorized HTC resellers across the country. The product has a 5MP camera at its back and a VGA front-facing camera for video calling. It has Bluetooth and Wi Fi connectivity. It gives longer battery life with 1520 mAh battery. Along with the Salsa, HTC had also announced the HTC ChaCha in MWC 2011. The phone also comes with the Facebook button. It comes with a 2.6-inch 480 x 320 resolution touchscreen and QWERTY keypad. Both Salsa and ChaCha has many features in common, but as far as looks are concerned both differ completely. ChaCha has the application like Gmail access and Google Maps, but it has smaller display power as it becomes difficult to read the Facebook contents. It has the 1250 mAh battery, which gives up to 420 minutes of WCDMA talktime. However it is almost 300 mAh less than the Salsa. However, Salsa may face tough competition from its rivals Samsung Galaxy and Motorola Defy as they are available at a lower price than Salsa.
