Flagship Battle: Is it The Xiaomi Mi4 or OnePlus One?

#Hardware

OnePlus One is powered by a 2.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, Adreno 330 GPU and 3GB of RAM. Then again, the Xiaomi Mi4 features the same chipset and RAM configuration.

These phones do not have an external storage slot but the OnePlus One has an upper hand here with a 64 GB of storage space compared to the Mi4 with just 16GB.

According to Xiaomi, the 3080mAh battery on the Mi4 would last for one and a half day with normal use. In contrast, the OnePlus One?s 3100mAh battery would last for a day with heavy use.

Moving on to connectivity side, Mi4 lacks the support for 4G. But, the OnePlus One supports Band 3 or FD-LTE 1800MHz which will be deployed in future as well as TD-LTE Vand 40 2300MHz which is the current network range used. Therefore, the OnePlus One has an edge here with support to the upcoming 4G networks in India.

#Software

As we know, both of the devices are based on Android but what makes it different from one and another is the Xiaomi?s MIUI6 on the Mi4 and CyanogenMod 11S, a custom version of Android 4.4 developed by Cyanogen running on the OnePlus One.

OnePlus One?s interface feels like a Stock Android yet with a customizable window and the MIUI resembles Apple?s iOS in design and navigation. CyanogenMod, a favourite among gadget lovers gives room for more customization, enhanced security and additional features. While the MIUI on Mi4, emphasises more on the ease of usage offering native apps and better notifications.

But OnePlus One?s ROM may hinder the flexibility comparatively to Cyanogen?s ROM. And MIUI has more elasticity when comes to customising with themes and wallpaper.
