First Impression Of The Dual-SIM HTC Desire 700
Bangalore: With the introduction of new mid-range Smartphones in India, HTC has expanded its desire handsets, with Desire 501, Desire 601 and Desire 700. Here is a sneak-peek, first impression of the dual-SIM HTC Desire 700 Smartphone.
Starting at
33,050, HTC Desire 700, dual-SIM (CDMA) resembles its other Desire siblings and unlike the HTC One, it’s predominantly made of plastic and weighs around 149 grams, with a taller, broader and thicker build. A 5-inch qHD display dominates the front portion of the device, which offers a resolution of 540x960 pixels. With a rather steeped up price for the handset, the display quality is quite a letdown as the resolution offered does not stand up with the bigger sized display, as it reduces the pixel density to about 220ppi (pixels per inch). This makes the images and text appear less sharp and at times, pixilated compared to 720 and 1080 pixels displays.
The back panel of the Desire 700 is an 8 megapixel rear camera with flash, while there is also a 2.1MP front-facing camera, with a sensor array just about the display. The side panel houses a metallic volume rocker key and the top and bottom panels have the Power/Screen lock key made of soft plastic, a 3.5 mm jack and micro USB port. The Smartphone’s soft plastic back casing sports a matte finish, which is removable. And underneath the cover lies two micro-SIM card slots, a microSD card slot and the 2100mAh removable battery.
The Desire 700 dual SIM also features BoomSound, which is essentially the dual frontal stereo speakers with built-in amplifier, just like the HTC One. The phone also features green colored accents integrated with the front speaker grills, and the camera lens at the back.
Coming to the internal specifications, HTC Desire 700 is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB RAM. Running on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 5, the company's custom UI layer runs on top. And just like the HTC One, it supports Blink Feed, offering a feed of news and social network updates on the user's home screen. The device also supports GSM along with CDMA networks, offering dual-SIM functionality with both lines active at the same time.
