Emerson launches Liebert CRV cooling unit in India

Bangalore: Emerson Network Power has introduced its new cooling unit, Liebert CRV in India. The cooling system is row-based and provides focused cooling close to the heat source. The Liebert CRV makes use of technologies like Digital scroll compressor, EC fan, adjustable airflow baffles, iCOM controller and R410a refrigerant to decrease energy consumption and ensure optimal rack conditions. B. B. Kale, Country Manager, Liebert Precision Cooling Products, Emerson Network Power India, commented on the launch, "Whether it's the need to squeeze more equipment into their IT spaces or minimize impact on the environment, data center managers are driven by a mandate to reduce operational cost and power consumption. To address this need, Emerson Network Power designed Liebert CRV. It is unique in its ability to adapt to the load by providing the exact level of cooling required by the servers by modulating the cooling capacity from10-100 percent." The Liebert CRV is placed in a 'hot aisle-cold aisle' layout. The cooling unit draws air from the hot aisle and gives the air to the cold aisle, to the front of servers. The air given out can be directed in either right, left or both the directions, based on requirements. This can be done by means of integrated adjustable air flow baffles. The iCOM controller monitors the heat load generated by the IT equipment and regulates the unit accordingly to achieve energy savings. The cooling system can work with both new and existing datacenter with and without raised floor. Liebert CRV is available from 20kW and 35kW cooling capacity in air-cooled, water cooled & glycol cooled configuration and 40KW cooling capacity in CW configuration in a single frame.
