Apple TV Plus Content Coming to Airtel in India and Amazon Prime in the US
It was followed by a deal with Airtel in India and now Apple has announced that its TV Plus content will be available as an add-on for Amazon Prime Video in the US later this month. From then, this would allow Prime Video subscribers to access all the movies and series from the library of Apple TV Plus from the Amazon app. The add-on price will be kept the same as Apple's app to enable viewers to view the Apple original shows without necessarily having a separate account or billing details. It is aimed at broadening Apple's content to a larger base of Amazon's users.
For several years, Amazon has been making it seamless for its customers to access the content of more than a hundred services via add-ons with its Prime Video. This means customers can maintain a watchlist and track all their subscriptions using just one account. Official confirmation of this collaboration is yet to come. According to reports, though, Apple TV Plus will be accessible to Prime Video users outside the US, but no news has been given about which countries will benefit from this service and when the rollout might be. It is worth noting that such an add-on differs from a bundle deal.
As part of its commitment to serving customers with outstanding offers for services such as Apple TV Plus and Apple Music, Apple has allied itself with Airtel. The deal unveiled in August this year would mean that users of Wynk Premium transition to Apple Music and enjoy exclusive offers later in the year. The move is one of Apple's efforts in trying to make its services better by partnering with regional operators.
