This slim shaped device offers a smooth typing experience for the user, when compared to both XPS 13 ZenBook UX305 and the MacBook Air. Though the buttons on the Keyboard appear large, it can travel shallow down up to 1.2mm.

The X1 Carbon offers a better typing experience with a depth of 1.86 mm, taking a slight lead over the MacBook. The MacBook uses Force Touch track pad, which operates by detecting the level of force as you push the button down. More or less this creates an interactive experience between the Notebook and its user.

Other Notebooks like the MacBook Air 11-inch, XPS13, ZenBook UX305 and Thinkpad X1 come with clip pads physically press down.
