Apple iPhone 6 to Have 4.8-inch Retina Display

Bangalore: For the first time, Apple is following Samsung Galaxy’s suit to sport a much bigger screen, reports Jefferies Analyst, Peter Misek. Apparently Apple is launching iPhone 6 with a wider 4.8-inch screen, which is almost an inch wider than the current iPhones that come with 4-inch display screen.

This new screen size is said to drive a huge number of upgrades. "We think the 85 million iPhones eligible for an upgrade when the iPhone 6 launches, predictably in September 2014, could be boosted by another 5-10M from people who skipped the 5S/5C cycle," reports Misek. The Analyst also disclosed the rumors for price tag of the Apple’s next flagship Smartphone, which is believed to be at a top end of 60,335.

In the past year, Apple significantly lost its market share to Android phones having larger display even though it raised the display size of iPhone 5 to 4-inches from its prior 3.5-inches. So whether another upgrade in terms of the display size actually going to improve the Company’s market share is to be waited and seen.
