Android 2.3.3 now available for Nexus One, Nexus S

Bangalore: Google will be using Android 2.3.3 for Nexus One and Nexus S smartphone over the coming weeks. Earlier Google's Nexus one was shipped with Android v2.1 OS and later it was upgraded to Android 2.2 OS or Froyo. Even Google's Nexus S was powered by Android 2.3 or Gingerbread .But now both these phone will run on the Android 2.3.3 version which is still entitled Gingerbread.
Android 2.3.3 platform is available for the developers as a downloadable component for the Android Software Development Kit (SDK). The Android 2.3.3 adds several new features and improvements. It has improved and extended support for NFC. It had added platform and API support for Bluetooth non secure socket connections. It also delivers an update version of the framework Application Programming Interface (API).
Eric Schmidt, Google's Executive Chairman revealed that Android 2.4 will be used in the next version of Android smartphones.
