A new JioBook laptop from Reliance Jio is gearing up to be launched in India
Reliance Jio is gearing up to launch a new JioBook laptop in India. Amazon has published a teaser on its website. This could either be a refreshed version of the JioBook that the company launched back in October last year or Reliance might be planning to sell the older one via Amazon too. The 2022 JioBook laptop was made available only via Reliance Digital stores. As of now, there is no clarity as Amazon just says "all-new JioBook" will launch by the end of this month and the e-commerce site has also revealed some of the key features of the device. Here are all the details.
The Amazon teaser shows that the new JioBook laptop will have a design just like the one that the company announced in October last year. It comes in blue colour with a compact form factor. The teaser claims the laptop is "designed for all ages productivity, entertainment, and play." It has support for 4G connectivity and an octa-core processor, which the company says can handle streaming of high-definition videos, multitasking between applications, various software, and more. The teaser further claims that the latest Jio laptop has a very lightweight design, measuring about 990 grams. It can deliver a full-day battery to users, as per Amazon.
The 2022 JioBook was aimed at those who have a limited budget and want a laptop for basic purposes like browsing, education, and other things. The JioBook that was made available in October has an 11.6-inch HD display. This one has broad bezels and a 2-megapixel camera on the front for video calls. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC, which is backed by Adreno 610 GPU. It only has 2GB of RAM, which means multi-tasking won’t be smooth on this. It is being offered with 32GB eMMC storage which is expandable by up to 128GB. The Jio laptop runs on JioOS, which the company claims is well-optimized for smooth performance. The product even has a JioStore, which allows people to install any third-party app on the laptop.
There is a 5,000mAh battery under the hood, which Reliance Jio claims can deliver up to 8 hours of battery life on a single charge. There is also passive cooling support for heat emission. Connectivity options include a 3.5mm audio jack, Bluetooth 5.0, HDMI mini, Wi-Fi, and more. Interestingly, the device comes with an embedded Jio SIM card, which will allow people to enable Jio 4G LTE connectivity. This Jio laptop was launched under Rs 20,000 in India.
