Xiaomi to Launch 2 Variants of Flagship Mi 5


BANGALORE: Another report shines on the internet regarding Xiaomi’s most anticipated flagship Smartphone from the company Mi 5. The latest report say, that the Mi 5 will be launched in two variants but the difference will be only on the outer shell of the spoken phone, reports NDTV.

The earlier report had claimed the phone will feature two variants and it will differentiate with their RAM and storage capacity. Such as, one with 32GB internal storage with 3GB RAM priced to be CNY 1,999 (Approx. 20,300) and the other variant will feature 64GB inbuilt memory alongside 4GB with the expected price of CNY 2,299 (Approx. 23,400).

However, the recent report reveals a new way of differentiating the variants by its looks. According to the latest report, first variant of Mi 5 will sport 2.5D curved glass on both sides – Front and rear along with metal frame and regular FHD display. While the other variant sports complete metal body and features a QHD resolution display.

Altogether it is unclear about the details of screen size on both the variants. At the same time Xiaomi has hinted the launch date of Mi 5 in a riddled manner. As the company announced the new flagship device will be launched after the Spring Festival, which will take place from February 8 to end of the month.

Earlier this month, Liwan Jiang Co-Founder and Senior VP at Xiaomi had commented that the Mi 5 has moved into mass production and he promised that the company will produce sufficient number of devices so that none of consumer is left disappointed.

According to preliminary rumours, the Mi 5 will sport a 5.2-inch screen with FHD or QHD resolution display. Coming to camera there were no multiple speculation hence it will house a 16MP primary camera and a 13MP front-facing camera. The phone will be powered by a 3,600mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0 as the earlier speculation that Mi 5 will feature a Qualcomm’s latest high-end processor Snapdragon 820. On the software front, the device will run on MIUI 7 on top of Android’s latest OS 6.0 Marshmallow.
