Verizon XyBoard 4G LTE Tablets Launches in December

Bangalore: The tablet will be called the XyBoard when it hits the states in two models. Both the larger tablet known as the Xoom 2 in the UK and the smaller Media Edition will carry the Droid XyBoard brand.

Both of these tablets will launch by the end of 2011and they both have LTE connectivity inside. Pricing for the states has not been offered officially yet. The 16GB media Edition at 12,787 and the larger 64GB tablet could be as much as 37,440. A user will undoubtedly be tied to Verizon for the term of a two-year data plan for any of the tablets.

The hardware inside is already with all of the tablets having a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM and a five-megapixel camera, along with a 1.3 megapixel front-facing shooter. The displays are expected to have a resolution of 1280 x 800.

They are also coated in Corning Gorilla Glass and both are "thinner than an AAA battery and lighter than a paperback book." The stylus-equipped ten-inch version is reportedly geared toward the enterprise market, whereas its little brother is described as more media-friendly, presumably with the consumer market in mind.
