Vaio Hits The Market With An All New Android Smartphone


BENGALURU: The much famed ‘Vaio’ brand widely known for its laptops is now entering the Smartphone market. After Sony decided to quit the PC market and sold the brand to the investment fund Japan Industrial Partners, here is a report about the brand’s first ever Smartphone launch from Vaio, reports Tech 2.

Named as the VAIO phone, the Smartphone packed with pretty nifty specs too. It gets a 5-inch HD display boasting a resolution of 720 x1280 pixels and runs on the Android 5.0 out of the box. The hardware chipset consists of a powerful 1.2 GHz processor backed up by a 2GB of RAM.

On the camera front, the VAIO phone comes with a 13 mega pixel rear shooter with a 5 mega pixel front facing one for selfies and video calling. Storage can be done on a 16 GB of onboard memory and the device is said have a single-SIM slot. According to the Mobiletor.com, the phone will be charged by a 2500 mAh battery providing close to 13 hours of talk time.

However, the phone now will only be available in Japan with a price tag of $420 (approx Rs 26,400) without a contract. On the other hand, the VAIO phone is similar to the Panasonic’s Eluga U2 launched in Taiwan which has the same specs too.
