Bangalore: Sony Mobile officially announced the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich update for three Xperia smartphones in India. The Xperia Arc S, Xperia Neo V and the Xperia Ray are the ones who got the software update.

Sadly the update is not available Over-The-Air (OTA), you have to manually update your device using the PC Companion Suite. Once the update is done the flash support will be disabled but you can download the latest Adobe Flash player from the Google Play Store.

The update comes with improved performance like face unlock, resizable widgets, improved lock screen and web browser, new widgets, dialer, task switcher, data consumption monitor, group calendar, group phonebook, quick response for incoming calls, voice search and is enabled  to capture screenshot without any third-party apps.

Other Xperia smartphones such as Xperia Arc, Xperia Play, Xperia Neo, Xperia Mini, Xperia Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, Xperia Active and also Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman are scheduled to get the Android 4.0 ICS update in few months.
