The HTC Desire 816 G: Is it the Best Value For Money Smartphone?

BENGALURU: Following its big brother launch of the HTC 816, the cheaper version of it 816 G was launched just after three months. So, the major difference between the two would be the chipsets on the phones. Read on to find out more about the cheaper version as compiled by the Indian Express.

# Design

The phone looks similar to the older Desire 816, where the front of the phone comes with two speakers and a 5 mega pixel front camera. The phone comes with no capacitive buttons and the back cover is plastic which cannot be removed. The top right of the phone houses two nano SIM card slots along with a micro SD card slot covered by a plastic flap. The left side has the power and volume buttons.

# Display

The HTC 816 G has a 1280 x 720 pixels HD display which is good. There are no plus points like the Corning Gorilla glass to protect the display which is kind off shocking as even the low priced comes with one. The display is apt for watching movies, play games and a person with a minimal usage should not have any complaints with it. The viewing angles on the phone are good too and offer decent outdoor visibility.

# Camera

The 816 G comes with a good camera and the image detailing in the low light is also more than fine. Daylight images are even better with on the dot colors and its 5 MP front camera also captures good selfies provided if you can hold this big phone in one hand. But finally, the users of the phone will like the camera on the phone as it performs quite well on the indoors as well as the outdoors.

# Verdict

The Taiwanese company manufacturer, HTC has done a good job of launching the 816 G with a 5.5-inch phone in Rs 18,000 price segment. This phone would be a worthy buy, if you want to buy a big screen phone with a performing camera.
