Spice Answering Androiders Dream, 5-inch Phone for 15,000


Bangalore: Android phones have taken the mobile market by storm with countless android based phones flooding the market. Android phones launched in the past few months have always been priced over the 30,000. The HTC One S, Samsung Galaxy S III, Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc, LG Optimus 2X are some of the few priced above the 30,000 mark.

An affordable android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) phone is a dream for many. Well good news for all gadgets enthusiasts. Spice Mobiles, an Indian Smartphone manufacturer will be launching several Android phones for less than 15,000 in the next two weeks.

The manufactures were tight lipped about most of the details regarding the phones, but the spokesperson from Spice Mobiles told Mobile Indian that they are looking forward to launch several smart phones with screen sizes in the range of 2.8 inches to 5.0 inches. The phones would be priced between the ranges of 5000 to 15, 000. One more good news for mobile enthusiast is that the phones would come with Android 2.3 and some out of them would be upgradeable to the latest Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).

The other additional features are increased security with pre loaded antivirus and the phones would also have dual SIM facility, GPS/AGPS, WiFi/WiFi Tethering. The Smartphones would also come with a combination of 2G and 3G.

However, the spokesperson of the company refused to divulge further details about the phones. The name or model number of the phones have not been disclosed either. If you are planning to buy an affordable Android phones which is upgradable to the latest version of operating system, just wait for another fifteen days.
