Sony's Tablet Rumored To Be Launched In 2015

BANGALORE: The Xperia manufacturer Sony is apparently working on a tablet with a 12.9 inch screen size. This large screen tablet is assumed to have a resolution of 3840x 2400 pixels and will believed to target the high end tablet market, reports Gizbot.

As far as the information is concerned, the Sony tablet will be made by the Pegatron Technology, which also manufactures Apple's iPad and the Microsoft's Surface tablets. On the specifications, the tablet measures a thickness of 8.6mm and comes with a Snapdragon processor with featuring an 8 mega pixel camera.

However, the information on the launch date and the release is still not clear. Though Sony is not the manufacturer of the premium laptop computers, the company seems to be hopeful about the future of tablet devices. A new report also says that the 12.9-inch tablet could be launched in the first quarter of 2015.

If this is right, the Sony’s tablet would be announced at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and the company recently teased a thin device which looks like a tablet device.

According to the NDTV gadgets, there is also a buzz which says Apple also has been working on a large tablet, which is expected to be called the iPad Pro and sport a 12.9-inch liquid-crystal-display screen. The device might not be launched in the first quarter of the next year but anticipated to be out by the second half of 2015.
