Sony Xperia S Coming to India on April 10


Bangalore: The most awaited Sony’s flagship smartphone-‘Sony Xperia S’ will be available in India from April 10. The company announced this exciting news about its first non-Ericsson Android smartphone on its official Facebook page.

For those who don’t know, the Xperia S runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and the company promises to upgrade it to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the second quarter of this year. It is powered by 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8260 Snapdragon dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM.

Other features includes; a stunning 4.3 inch high definition touchscreen display with 1280x720 pixels of resolution, 12 MP rear facing camera with Sony Exmor R image sensor, capable of 1080p video recording, 1.3 MP front facing camera for video calling and chats, 16 or 32 GB of internal storage memory and for connectivity it has HSPA, Wi-Fi, DLNA, GPS, HDMI and NFC.

The smartphone was first showcased at Consumer Electronics Show 2012 in Las Vegas. Xperia S has been through many rumors after its launch; regarding its availability and price. The online retailer Play.com has listed this smartphone’s availability as January 29 previously, and later changed to February 13. Now the company has clarified its availability by posting in its official Facebook page.

Xperia S is also equipped with fast charging battery pack and the expected price of this high-end smartphone would be around 32,549.
