Sony Xperia Phones To Get Jelly Bean Updates Soon

Bangalore: The owners of Sony Xperia T and Xperia V can expect Android 4.1 very soon. According to Sony, the initial batches of Xperia Smartphones will soon receive the Jelly Bean update, followed by Xperia TX which is due sometime in March. The rollout will continue to ramp up over this month and next, added Sony.

The owners will receive a notification when the update is available for the model of the phone they have. Users will also be able to download the software over air, but some may have to install it through their computers with the help of Sony’s PC Companion or Bridge for Mac software.

Sony had revealed its Android 4.1 update schedule for early 2013, in December. The Xperia J, Xperia P and Xperia Go are slated Jelly Bean in Late March while Xperia S, SL, Xperia Acro S and Xperia Ion sometime after that.

The new update comes with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean OS lined up with Sony’s new and improved features. The company promises mass enhancements with Its Xperia software and Android 4.1 hand in hand.

The Walkman, Album and Movies apps have been squeezed in to make it more intuitive. Users will be able to modify their screens with automatically resizable widgets. Sorting apps in the tray should also prove to be easy. With a suitable camera that comes with a better viewfinder and quicker way to switch between front and back,  Xperia users will set out to check for Sony’s update page and when Jelly Bean is ready, they will spill onto their phones.
