Sony Xperia C3, The Quad-core Budget Phone Is All Set To Launch

Bangalore: Sony Mobile is finally stepping into affordable large-screen Smartphones equipped with quad-core processor. Code named as Sony Xperia C3, the device is set to see a China launch soon and then worldwide, including India.

The Smartphone is inspired by its elder sibling, the flagship handset, Sony Xperia Z. It is supposed to pack a 1.2 Ghz MediaTek MTK6589 quad-core mobile processor, the first ever for Sony. MediaTek processors are known for their budget friendliness and processing power.

Sony Xperia C3 will sport a 4.6-inch LCD 720p display and will run on Jelly Bean out of the box. Interestingly the handset will also be IP58 certified, which means it'll be water-proof, just like the Xperia Z. It has dual SIM capabilities, something which is very popular in the emerging markets like China and India.

Sony’s decision to launch large screen budget phones in emerging markets may attract competition from rival companies like Samsung and Nokia. Nokia has already launched a range of budget Smartphones like Lumia 520, 620, and 720 and Samsung is coming with its next offering, Galaxy Core, a budget friendly Smartphone which is to sport a 4.3 inch screen, dual-core processor and dual SIM capabilities.
