Sony Launched Xperia Tipo, Tipo Dual in India


Bangalore: Sony has launched two new mid-range smartphones –Xperia Tipo and Xperia Tipo Dual in the Indian market. The Xperia Tipo is a single SIM smartphone, while the Xperia Tipo Dual comes with dual SIM functionality.

Xperia Tipo is presently the cheapest phone under Sony’s Xperia series available in the market. The company is planning to introduce 6-8 new models in the coming six months, which may include few more under 10,000 smartphones.

The Xperia Tipo runs on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and is engineered with 800MHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. It has 3.2-inch Scratch proof mineral display, 3.2MP auto focus rear camera, 2.5GB internal storage and external memory expandable upto 32GB. The device is powered by a 1,500mAh battery and for connectivity it supports Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G.  The company is also providing 50GB of free cloud storage with this handset.

Xperia Tipo is targeting the Indian youth section, therefore supports social networking and entertainment. The smartphone comes preloaded with apps like Bollywood Hungama, Cricbuzz and appXtra. The Xperia Tipo and Xperia Tipo Dual are available in online shopping sites for 9,499 and 10,299 respectively.
