Smart TV To Get Smarter At CES With Ingenious Operating Systems


Bangalore: Facebook and other manufacturers will have to battle in the near future as 3 software programs were introduced   on Monday. These software programs would let   consumers watch movies and chat with friends on the T.V screens, bringing together socializing and entertainment.  In order to these features the user needs to buy  separate device like Roku and Apple for about $100 and then install it. Google also sells a Chrome cast at $35 with features.


At the International CES gadget show held in Las Vegas it was announced that Mozilla is   partnering with Panasonic and  using its Firefox OS on smart TV’S L.G Corp plans to power 70% of smart TV’s’ this year  with its OS. Through OS owners can set control over home appliances from the Roku, the streaming video device maker would incorporate its software where its apps can run without a separate device. For this it is partnering with two large Chinese TV makers, TCL Corp. and Hisense International Co. Ltd., Opera software plans to use its own Web browser that would work on TV sets and there is also a conjecture that Apple is also working on its smart system.

On Monday, Google and few popular car makers Audi, General Motors, Honda and Hyundai is partnering with ChipmakerNvidia to bring Android OS to cars “Opera and  Firefox is working on the problem of fragmentations on T.V’s through its web based standards like HTML5”,said Andrea Gal, the Vice President, Mozilla. Because many services already have websites that support HTML5 on the desktop, Gal said, those also should work on smart TVs through a browser.

Merwan Mereby, an executive with Panasonic Corp.'s interactive content business in North America, said that after years of developing its own proprietary technologies, Panasonic decided to embrace Firefox OS so that publishers and Web developers can bring content to the big screens more easily.
