Shipping of Google's Nexus 7 Started

Bangalore: On July 14th, 2012, Google’s official Play page carried news which stated that the Google Nexus 7 is ready for the pre-orders dispatch. Ever since the tablet was reveled at the Google I/O, the Nexus 7 has been a much anticipated as well as the most talked about tablet in the recent days.

Nexus 7 has been in the news because it is pitted against Apple’s iPad and it has been touted as the iPad killer! With its pricing it is also said that it has been designed to take on Amazon’s Kindle. The tablet has been designed by ASUS. Google has priced its tablet in order to take on any kind of competition and make an impact in the all ready over crowed budget tablet market.

The tablet is 198.5 X 120 X 10.5 mm and weighs 340g. It has a 7-inch screen which comes with IPS display of 1280 X 800 pixels. Since the tablet is not 3G enabled the price tag is quiet affordable. The tablet has a front facing camera which can shoot 720p HD videos and comes in two storage capacities, 8GB and 16GB. A drawback which might not make the tablet popular is the absence of rear camera.

The 8GB tablet comes with an extremely affordable price tag of 11,000 and the second variant of 16GB comes for 14,000. Google kept its promise of keeping the price of its new tablet well within the budget category.

Along with this, the company has announced that it would give the users a credit of 1,500 to spend in Google Play.

The latest tendency among the launch of gadgets, making it available online seems to be the new trend. Gadgets find their way to online stores, or the company websites for purchase before they hit the stands. Google didn’t want to be left out of this trend.
